December 2009 Newsletter

Dear Parents,

Can you believe we have already made it through the first week of December?

I know this is a very busy month for all of us and I hope that you are able to take a few breaths and take time to relax for at least a few minutes throughout the month. As a way to help you relax we would like to offer another “date night” for you on Friday December 18th. We will stay open until 9:30 pm and you can pack your childs PJ’s for them to change into. We will offer the same dinner from Golden Corral as last time (chicken, mac n cheese, green beans and a roll), and cake for dessert. Please make sure your child is picked up by 9:30pm. We will end the evening with a movie and a little quiet time. We are offering this free to you as our way of saying thank you for everything that you do for us here at the center! You all are very special to us and we hold each and every one of you in our hearts!

We will celebrate St. Nicholas Day on this Friday —- hummm … I wonder what he might leave in our shoes at nap time…???

We will be making gingerbread cookies this month also … There is no telling what will happen to our little gingerbread boys and girls …. (run run as fast as you can — can’t catch me the ginger bread man).

Our teddy bears had quite a sleep over the week of Thanksgiving! The children decided that they had a party when they were supposed to have been fast asleep on their mats!! What a mess we all had to clean up after those naughty teddy bears!

The children will celebrate the birth of Jesus on December 23 at our snack time. If you would like to donate for our celebration you are more than welcome to, but please don’t feel obligated to do so. Some of our wish list items are:
small plates * crackers *cheese* veggies* cookies* juice* fruit* fruit dip* veggie dip

Coaches’ Training Camp

I would like to give a great big welcome to Coaches J.J. Scaglione and Bobby Wade. The coaches will be taking care of our before and after school program as well as the summer program and summer activities such as going swimming, bowling, and the library. The coaches training camp started out at San Ann Elementary and we are honored to have them now working with us.

A little info about the coaches:

Coaches’ Training Camp was created by coaches JJ Scaglione and Bobby Wade as a solution for working parents who want more for their kids than traditional before and after school and summer programs have to offer.
As elementary school PE teachers, Scaglione and Wade recognized a need for kids to have daily structured physical activity, as well as learning outside the classroom. And, as parents themselves, they realize that offering homework assistance during after care reserves more time for family in the evenings.

Coaches’ Training Camp provides a safe, fun, and nurturing environment that meets the needs of both children and their families in the San Antonio area.

JJ Scaglione
A Tampa native, JJ Scaglione has been an elementary Physical Education teacher in Pasco County for 17 years, and at San Antonio Elementary for the past 13 years. He has a degree in Elementary Physical Education from the University of South Florida. Coach Scaglione enjoys fishing and spending time with his wife and their three daughters Mina, Gracie, and Maelee.

Bobby Wade
A native of Pasco County, Bobby Wade has been a teacher and coach for the Pasco school district for 10 years, and at San Antonio Elementary for the past 4 years. He has a degree in Physical Education K-12 from Florida Southern College. Coach Wade enjoys college football, fishing, and taking children Hannah and Levi to Pasco High football games

The Coaches will officially start on December 28th which happens to be Coach Scaglione’s Birthday so if you see them please offer them a great big welcome and a Happy Birthday!

We will be closed on December 24th and 25th
as well as December 31st and Janurary 1st.

Everyone at Dragonflies and fairytales would like to wish you all a blessed holiday with a sprinkle of magic on top!

We would also like to thank you for all of your well wishes and everything that you do for us all year long.

Blessings from,

The Dragonfly Gang!!!
